Planning a wedding takes a lot of time as any bride knows. We wanted to wait to take our engagement photos until the trees were finally green and with the late spring we had, that ended up being the end of April. The last month of wedding planning was a blur and I didn’t have time to share our photos. So here we are, a month and a half later. I’ve never shared much of our story before and I hope you enjoy this inside peak.
I was originally supposed to wait until I was 18 to start dating but instead I married at 18 (18 and three quarters if that makes a difference.) Honestly, I think God knew that if he could direct my life before I made my own plans it would be much easier. I first met Aaron several months before I turned 15. I liked him immediately and thought he was a great guy but my mind was miles away. Later that summer we traveled out west with a large group of youth and got to know each other better. I was definitely noticing him at this point but still wasn’t thinking romantically. I was 14 for goodness sake!
Over the next year and a half we saw each other every other weekend or so and gradually grew closer. Several months after I turned 16, Aaron asked to start an official dating relationship with me and we finally confirmed what all our friends already knew, “we had a lot in common.” (That’s an inside joke. 😉 Dating at such a young age definitely wasn’t all easy. I had to answer a lot of hard questions with in myself about whether I actually ready for this step. I knew it could mean giving up a lot and I wasn’t always sure I could do it but gradually with my parent’s support and seeking God’s will, I knew this was His leading.
