The week before Joe & Bethany’s engagement session was one of the warmest we’d had in several weeks and I dared to believe that fall would just hold off for a while. When Thursday rolled around with colder temperatures that kept dropping through Friday and a cold drizzling rain started falling just an hour before their session, I had to make a decision. We were leaving the following week for Hawaii and I knew that to expect better weather after we got back was a long shot. After talking with Bethany we decided to follow through and I’m so glad we did! Although we were a bit chilly and Aaron and my sister, Doris were kept busy keeping an umbrella over my camera while I darted back and forth, I couldn’t have asked for a better couple to brave the weather.

After the shoot we all went out for a Mexican dinner at our favorite local restaurant. With three girls discussing wedding plans, we were quite the trio and I’m sure the guys felt a little mystified. Who knew there were so many wedding details to discuss, right?!

Bethany and Joe, the journey you’re on hasn’t been easy and it’s been such a beautiful thing to see the maturity it’s brought to your lives, drawing you closer to God and each other. I love the way you love your daughter and watching you navigate the journey together as parents. I’m so excited for your May wedding and all that God has in store for your future.
