Stephen met us at the door as we walked into the church house, wearing a huge smile. We had known Stephen for a while but had only seen him off an on throughout the years. He’s always had a large, bubbling personality but I have never seen him as excited as he was that day. We exchanged hugs all around and as we met more of the family and bridal party, I realized that the joy and kindness so evident in Stephen didn’t stop with him. From the groomsmen to the servers at dinner, I was blown away at their joyful and genuine hearts.
Each part of the day was thoughtfully planned with shades of dusty purple, mint, and gray woven throughout. Much of their reception decor was handmade by Stephen, including a ladder carved with their initials and wedding date, hanging above the head table. Margaret walked down the aisle in a blush a-line gown accented with lace and beading to the classic, “Canon in D.” One of my favorites parts of a wedding day are the vows and they didn’t disappoint. With a heartfelt commitment to love each other and cheer each other on for the rest of their lives. they promised to always work towards “happily ever after.”
Stephen and Margaret, thank you so much for sharing your wedding day with us! I appreciate the way you trusted us to capture this day in all it’s joy, celebration, and commitment. You are both so authentically “you” and I love the way you give others permission to do the same. Keep on learning, growing, and giving freely to each other the love you hold so deeply in your hearts. We love you! 🙂
