I’ve waited at least three years to say that! Although Grace and I live almost 2000 miles apart, regular phone calls and the occasional trip across the country have kept us close. I thought I knew everything about her but I was wrong.

Jesse is my uncle and since my Dad is the second oldest in a large family and Jesse is the second youngest, he and I are only 5 years apart in age. He was the older brother I never had and before Aaron and I started dating, we were really close. (Loosening those ties after we started dating is another story for another day. 🙂 I knew Jesse liked Grace and had known for a long time. You can imagine the fix I was in, knowing what I knew about Jesse and not being able to tell Grace.

While Grace and I occasionally talked about relationships, she never admitted to liking Jesse, or got even close to it. I used to wish I could somehow get her to like him back because I cared so much about both of them and wanted them to be happy. Little did I know she did like him! Since then, when I’ve asked why she didn’t tell me, she told me would have been too weird because he was my uncle. Although I understand her point, I have to disagree. But it’s probably better this way. Who knows what would have happened if I would have tried to make it happen in my timing! Nevermind, let’s not even imagine that.

Jesse and Grace, I am so excited for you! I can’t wait to see you in person and celebrate this new season with you. Thank you for being amazing friends and for letting me capture your love earlier this summer. I might just have been waiting to share these photos until I heard the news. Now that I can finally tell the world that you’re engaged, I think it’s the perfect time to show them why I’m so excited! 🙂
