Are you planning a fall wedding? Although it’s springtime now, if you’re getting married this year, chances are you might be saying “I do,” during the second most popular time of year. James and Rosa’s wedding, photographed by Jessica Rose Photography was a perfect example of classic romance with an elegant color palette of deep forest green contrasted with autumn tones of red and burnt orange. With succulents galore (enough to make any plant lover swoon,) a boho inspired arch, donut bar, and a sparkler firework exit, you’ll want to stay till the end! Their wedding is the second post in my Bride to Bride series where I feature inspiration from real weddings and tips straight from the bride to help you plan your dream day.
When I asked Rosa what her wedding priorities were, she answered by saying that she really wanted to remain calm and to enjoy the day. Making sure that her family and close friends felt comfortable, relaxed, and could enjoy the wedding was a big priority as well. Most of all, she wanted her wedding to be about more than just spending a lot of money and instead, wanted it to glorify God.
Pinterest was Rosa’s biggest inspiration when planning her wedding and was where she found her color palette. Her advice to future brides concerning Pinterest was to use it to find good ideas but to keep in mind that some ideas aren’t realistic for the average couple. Instead of being disappointed that your wedding can’t be exactly like the picture, get inspired by Pinterest but then use the design concept in a way that fits your budget and vision.
She says “Looking back, there are a lot of things I learned and would do differently. It seems that once you’re married, your head clears up a lot and the stress just isn’t there anymore. That’s also when you see what you should have done differently. Making decisions is stressful for me so sometimes I just decided on something without thinking about it enough. I wish I would have had a clearer vision in my mind as to what I wanted. I also wish I wouldn’t have let the opinions of those around me affect my decisions as much.”
